    Re: MEGA buys GOLD

OK Miker. Tell us how much U bought? iTulipers have a right to know! Didja "corner the gold market"?

Bottom line: Even if you bought an "immoderate" position in gold, the "trend is your friend". All tactical errors (putting a large position in at the top of a quite large move up in gold is a tactical error) are forgiven as this mega-bull market in gold picks up steam.

This is a decade long trend, not a one or two year blow-off which puts a definitive end to the hard money bull market.

[ CLARIFICATION: peace and tranquility, to all non-gold-bulls out there: This thread functions at least partly to accommodate the ANIMAL SPIRITS of the GOLD BULLS - that irrational bunch of assorted survivalists, unreconstructed doomers (that's MEGA BTW), and rabid opportunists (me for one) intent on scalping the Government, while it foolishly attempts to defraud the unsuspecting public. ]

        Mike,

Do you understand that EJ because of demands on his time has begun limiting his replies to questions or points raised by subscribers in the Select part of iTulip? You can keep trying to draw him out, but you may not succeed. Good luck,

more seriously, i think investors should consider allocating a very small percentage of their assets to information. think of the management fees that are paid, even in mutual funds. if spending, say, 1/2%, allows you to earn 2% more in return, you're way ahead. if it keeps you from going broke....

Assuming the electrical line is plugged in, which I doubt, then the two or three guys in the pool are about the dumbest guys in the world. I presume they are Americans, or is that too negative a statement about America's unintelligentsia.

It will be interesting to see tomorrow when the Packers and Giants are playing in Green Bay if any of America's unintelligentsia are out there painted with their shirts off. As hard as it is for me to imagine, I bet some will be there with their shirts off.

Maybe gold will be at $760. Who knows. But if your timeframe is longer than a year I would buy gold. And I would buy gold anyway because nobody can predict the future and that's why you own gold.

                I wouldn't discount silver either...
I'm curious why gold would rally in '08 with the fed continuing to pump dollars into the economy, deficits continuing to rise, economic news being mostly bad lately, and even the export data wasn't what they hoped (Schiff wrote a column on this). What factors out there do you think would cause a rally in the dollar?

I world if EJ would come down to my level, but he talks in Kingon most of the time. I read his art-ta-cals and he is far above my station in life.
