The upshot is this, SUV's make no sense if you can't power them with diesel.
Here in Blighty we didn't have a big SUV thing till the last 10 years or so...you need powerful but frugal diesels (some run them on "Red Diesel)......if you power them via gas-o-lean then they cost a bomb to run.
So, "They" are going to force car producers to make low slung aerodymanic cars...........
