The China Hustle - Documentary re: Massive Chinese Fraud in the US

Just thought I'd share this excellent documentary I just watched on Netflix, titled "The China Hustle" (1 hour 24 mins). It walks us through an ongoing multi-hundred billion dollar fraud that is Chinese companies listing in the US stock market via reverse mergers. Turns out, after some investigation, the vast majority are huge frauds, and their stocks are, one at a time, approaching $0. At present there's still some 100 of these 400 companies listed in the US. Their current total valuation? $1.1T

I'll give away the end of the documentary without actually spoiling it... this is just the tip of the iceberg. The ones that were investigated were the little ones, the big ones are out of reach of small investigators, those frauds are many times bigger, and very likely a reflection of the Financial markets of China as a whole. The only question remaining is when the entire house of cards comes falling down.

This sounds like a joke. Everyone knows that in China, there are 2 set of books - the real one for the management and the fake one for the authorities. The way to play such stocks is just like Bitcon, pump and dump. They are not for investing.

The only Chinese stock that I thought might be real and bought is Alibaba, but even that I've already dumped it.
