Is it possible Trump becomes a black swan? Not yet of course, but if he makes a big blunder while the stock market is correcting 10 – 15 percent, could he not by himself send it plunging 30 or 40 simply by being angry/confused/indecisive/incoherent?

bought a little VDC today during the nader. Not too much just a few shares.
The market is still way over-valued. I will buy more if we have a continued down trend.

Bonds are scary. I believe the carrying cost of federal debt is now in the hockey stick phase.
interest rates up, 500B yearly deficits, and soon to be climbing.
seniors applying for medicare and ss.
and lets spend more on the milatary, and infrastructure.
Even though stocks are down over 10%, treasury yields are only down a few points.

A few more pct down and I might grab a small number of IYR.

It's a standard equity market problem. Interest rates and inflation appear to be moving up. As they do, equities will be challenged. The S&P 500 yield is below 2% so you have to ask yourself if you believe the market will continue moving up over the next few years to fill that gap.
