I finshed my tea so i start:-

I have NEVER liked Bladerunner, Never!
It was based on a short story that Phill k Dick himself didn't think much of..........the acting was poor (expect for Rugter) the sets sh1t. The director was a arse-hole limey turd whom had the great idea of pissing off the American film crew while running behind (badly) on time. Ford was "lost" & its only the fact that it is a so Bloody sh1t film employing one of the 80's best actors that it is remembered at all!

Oh & the Tears in rain thing?................that came from Rugter himself using the last few film reels they had at the end of shooting. Film being in short stock because Riddly (Am an pompus arse-hole) did anything up to 40 takes when 4-8 would have done!

However, that's not why i hate it so much

I hate it so much because every middle-class art-e neo-lib asshole will not shut up about it!

Since 1982 i had to listen to every one of these picks go on & on about it............& you just know these assh0les also had "Che" posters on their bedroom walls with out a clue of who he was & what a blood thsrty little bastard he was.

When i heard 2049 was coming out i was PISSED............Yet another batch of neo-lib arseholes where going to get going on this........& yet i had hope.

Bladerunner 1982 was abox office crash, its taken ALL this time to break even.......i crossed my fingers & hoped the people would vote with their feet.

They gave me Brexit, they gave me Trump...........once again they up trumps!

In 1982 & even since the neolibs said "Ah it lost money because didn't understand it"............(Yes they did, its sh1t!)
"The American's are too dumb to get it"........no they not..........they FULLY understood that the bloke from BSG knew Deck-turd was dreaming about Unicorns was because he a sim-u-ant.........they got it.

Let us hope this will like so much Neo-lib sh1t fade away quickly......................

You are FAR too harsh.

I was too young to appreciate the original for what it was, a visual masterpiece of one potential near future.

It was only Bladerunner and Alien out of all sci-fi that ever took a darker, or in the case of Bladerunner, noir, viewpoint.

A future that is like the past and present. Dark, dirty, and ugly at times.

Maybe Sean Connery in Outland(high noon...in space) comes close as well.

I appreciate the original far more today than I did 35 years ago.

And you forgot to mention Vangelis’ soundtrack.

I will see the new one.

And I’ll keep watching the Man in the High Castle and Black Mirror. Philip Dick story and those inspired by him.

Did you watch the new blade runner? is it as good as the first one.

Blade Runner was a brilliant film that you had to watch a few times to get it, Excellent replay value.

Way way ahead of its time, no doubt Cyberpunk Genre copied elements of it.

Way way ahead of its time, no doubt Cyberpunk Genre copied elements of it.

I loved the original. And enjoyed the sequel. It's really well done. Visually stunning with a solid enough plot.The themes are very similar to those in the original and in the recent series Westworld. However I think the TV series Westworld demonstrates how modern TV is often better than the movies in terms of character and plot development these days.

However I think the TV series Westworld demonstrates how modern TV is often better than the movies in terms of character and plot development these days.

Yes, My Wife loves series even though she has not seen the film.

I was dissapointed with the Ender's Game film it just did not do the book any justice this should have been a TV series.

Going to have go to the cinema and watch the new Blade Runner.
