Been a while since i done one of these so i thought i drop a few lines to entertain & inform.
Things going ok for me at work right now, everyone has been very helpful & given surport after the death of my Father. One young lady has been very helpful & am told might like to meet me off base (We call our HQ the Deathstar btw). Seeing how am old enough to be her father am not sure this is a good thing to do?
Meantime things here in Blighty are in a strange "No mans land"..........a sort of "Phoney war" if you like. Its very clear to anyone with more than 3 brain cells that the debt based Western banking system is dead. Yet no one whats to make that call.....House prices have stopped rising & big falls are now being to happen. The Press are starting to make warning sounds......its not yet happened but the chattering classes are starting to get message that all is not well.
Big falls are expected for the UK pound £..............the bigger the better.
Diesel:-
Well as expected the pressure on diesel is ramping up nicely............just this week Germany tested "Euro-6" diesels and found them wanting. They sussed that they don't measure up to the reg after they a year old or so. The Car producers have got the message, NO DIESEL after 2020. Sure they keep sayiing there will be ............but given there rather LARGE stock of unsold stock i bet they would.
Yesterday i had a rather unhappy experance with a driver of a new non-diesel car.
I drove off the freeway & this baloon head came flying up the inside of me to the round-a-bout...he was trapped behind a HGV & a slower car........i drove around them all & got to my turn............he peeled off & raced up behind me (I was not speeding at ANY time BTW). I had a right turn to make & i was a few secounds ahead & turned before a line of on coming traffic would have halted my progress.
It did halt his, he had to wait while i drove though a 30 zone......at about 30.
I had 30 secounds on him but kept to 30..........after 2 mins or so he caught me up & drove about an 20 mm off my rear .........he had no attempt to overtake ....at the next set of lights i drove into another 30 zone........he turned off.
Why had he been such an ass?
I watched him at the lights, he went though his papers that where on the passenger seat........this guy was a sales rep.
In years gone by Reps were given very crappy cars, then under FAG Labour (2000-2007 ish) They were given BMW's to drive......uaslly 3 series with 180 bhp Turbo diesel engines. After the crash of 08 things went crappy for them..........still they got detuned 2 litre Turbo Diesels with 140 bhp........now they starting to get DOWN-sized in a BIG way...............3 cyinder Ford Focus with 105 bhp! is now a common sight on the roads.......but this was worse than that.
It was the new Seat Ibiza (VW Polo).....almost as big as a Golf, but this version was only sporting 95 BHP !!!!!!!........drum rear brakes & torsen bar rear end.
No wonder he was pissed!!!!!!!!!!
