        Re: Manchester

My main issue with the conservatives is, that this event will be used to push for even more surveillance... while it seems that various people around the perpetrator of the Manchester attack tried to warn police and intelligence services about the danger he posed, without any visible consequences....
Either complete incompetence by authorities, or a convenient way to influence voters in the upcoming election? That is, if this doesn't blow up in their face by widespread media attention on the failings...
And I'm not voting for anyone that pushes for increasing surveillance, as imho the root of the issue should be dealt with: export of religious extremism covertly and overtly supported by the western world.
The only thing increased surveillance is good for, us to set us up for the new-and-improved Stasi v2.0, at politicians disposal to turn our society into a totalitarian nightmare. Not a question of 'if', but of 'when'
