If you look at the business model of AdBlock Plus it is somewhat similar ... disrupt/block ads, allow select ads through so long as a cut of revenues is obtained by the protector.

I think their model is slightly different, but ultimately I can't see them generating much end user support given how browsers are bundled with operating systems & how hard Google Chrome is pushed across the Google network of websites.

Look at the marketshare of Firefox over the past few years. They used to be huge, now they are at maybe 8% to 16% of desktop usage
    https://clicky.com/marketshare/global/web-browsers/
    https://www.netmarketshare.com/brows...=0&qpcustomd=0
and they are effectively zero on mobile

I don't think publishers will be in any rush to promote Brave. there are far too many shakedowns in the publishing industry...

Facebook instant articles & Google AMP sucking whole content onto their platforms so users never leave their sites
Google sucking other content off publisher sites onto the Google SERP page for featured answers & knowledge graph results
ad blockers reducing revenues, then the AdBlock Plus kickback fees

I see essentially zero percent chance of Brave taking off.

the Opera web browser was also recently sold off to a Chinese consortium
    https://www.engadget.com/2016/07/18/...r-600-million/
Opera comes with a free VPN baked in.

and one of the Opera founders also launched another web browser

Firefox and Chrome offer some form of private browsing which effectively lets you shut down the browser re-open it and keep reading Washington Post and New York Time stories.

With Brave and Vivaldi (incognito) that doesn't seem to work. You have manually scrub history, cookies, etc with something like SuperAntiSpyware.

I will say the latter 2 load pages a lot faster.
