The Bond Vigilantes are certainly not happy with the results.
Perhaps Trump is going to use the Reagan, blank check policy to spur the economy.
Charlie says 3.25% on the 10 year, and that will be too much heat in the kitchen.

Being a giant holder of long debt, is the fed technically insolvent yet?

Obama tried to get the trillion dollar blank check for 8 years but Trump has the party affiliation and enough Dems will go along to get things moving. Say it with me brother: Clean Coal! Employment! Inflation!

i'm waiting for gary shilling to capitulate on bonds. then we'll really know it's over. otoh, this could just be a cyclical phenomenon, just a wave, with the tide of a deflationary de-deleveraging process re-asserting itself down the road.

i sold all my long bond positions [tlt and edv] when the 30yr yield backed up to 2.3-2.32. it's now at 2.94, which is roughly where i entered those positions. i keep wondering if it's time to buy back in, but i think that moment is more likely 2-3 years down the road.
