provocative, but the plural of "anecdote" is not "data." to make a real case you need to know the incidence of these kinds of events and compare it to the incidence of similar events related to other religions or personal preferences/demands. e.g. orthodox jews and pork products, the number of catholic chaplains per capita of catholic patients vs the same ratio for muslims, jehovah's witnesses and blood products, extreme modesty demands of some fundamentalist christians, and so on. bottom line- entertaining and provocative article containing NO DATA.

That's what I was thinking. Reminds me of those damned Papists sending their Roman priests into hospitals to administer last rights, getting in the way of good Protestant Doctors performing their jobs...

          True.

But at what point do key industries, like hospitals that serve the poor and middle class, start to break down from varying, unreasonable demands from smaller and smaller interest groups?

            I'm not sure.

But I suspect that the thinking represented by this phrase:

is 99% of the real problem with US healthcare.

              exactly!

what we've been seeing more and more and MORE of - since (at least) 2008

              TYRANNY OF THE MINORITIES.

esp the past couple of years within the bluestate urban ghettos, where the inhabitants seem increasingly 'empowered' to shoot cops, more seem to feel 'entitled' to violence - all waiting, no doubt, to hear that 'magic R word' out of hilbama&co (hint: reparations) whereupon the streets will EXPLODE.

and THEN we have mrs osama... uhhh... i mean obama, who mights well have declared full-ON racewar the other night, mentioning how she "....wakes up every morning in a house built by slaves!" ?

just wait - my guess is hitlery will start talking about it any day now (as her supposed 'lead' crumps against trump)
