Re: All not well down under

Australia has a significant number of troubled and non-assimilated muslim immigrants as well as more established and somewhat assimilated Muslim communities(ethnic Lebanese) with strong ties to transnational criminal groups.

NZ is far better his regard, largely due to our geographic isolation, having Australia as an illegal immigration "shield", and a successful assimilation process.

But even for Australia it's still just a drop in the bucket compared to Europe's illegal immigrant disaster.

I thought this was going to be about something genuinely serious:

In a very real sense the two problems are related. On the one hand you have people who have moved to seemingly greater prosperity; only to discover they are held back by the indigent population; so they "hit out".......

There's growing correlation(and targeting by the likes of IS and their ilk) between failure of 1st generation immigrants to assimilate and their children being susceptible to extremist views, recruitment, action.

Huge problems with the huge numbers and huge failure to assimilate in Europe.

        Not so much down here.

Immigration. Legal immigration is being used as a lever. Which makes sense. But propping up ludicrous property prices doesn't make sense.

But we're dealing with a highly irrational supermajority(NZ has one investment class....property)

The problem in a single sentence. There are no agreed rules, mechanisms and related institutions designed to deliver free enterprise equity capital, (Adam Smith's capital stock), into new job creation; allowing normal competition against incumbents in whatever enterprise. In the 20th century here in the UK that led directly to the dominance of trade unions and the establishment's determination to destroy them; now we see a repeat, but this time it is extreme terrorist groups filling the vacuum.

A debt fueled banking economy requires a fixed asset constantly increasing in value; a job creating competitive economy requires time, lots of time, and access to equity capital; to allow the time.
