Nice find, Mike, thanks for putting it up.

It is 83 mins long, Jimmy Rogers starts at 15 min and Faber at 39 min to 49 mins. Both of these were worth my time. Rogers "made" me buy some DBA.

Why not buy the ETN that follows Roger's own agriculture index?

The Upshot isthat its Gold as a sure bet, followed by Silver, N/Gas look good as does food.

You know, i only be into this subject for 8 months but i have started to get a feel for it. I am not the brightest boy in the class but 7 weeks ago i was working on my lathe making door handle parts when i sussed:-

UK oil production now falling off, we tapped out the North Sea

Ł is a reflexion of that

Thus among other things UK will NOT earn Oil $ they will have to spend Oil $!

Thus Ł likely to fall BIG time V other currences

Thus i moved a large chuck of cash into Euro's (as a start).

Zapato Geroge looked at the same thing and came to the same conclusion...the Ł will Crash & Burn!

            Re: Jim Rogers RICI

I didn't know about these commodity ETN's based on Jimmy Rogers' RICI until dbarberic mentioned RJA in the post above.

            Profile
            Issuer: SEK (Aa1/AA+)
            Primary Exchange: AMEX
            Ticker: RJA
            Intraday Indicative Value Ticker: RJAIV
            Bloomberg Index Ticker: RICIAGTR
            CUSIP: 870297603
            Inception Date: October 17, 2007
            Maturity Date: October 24, 2022
            Initial Index Level: 1236.05
            Denomination: $10.00
Short Sales* : Yes on an up or down tick
            Yearly Fee : 0.75%

The above is copied from http://www.elementsetn.com/ProductsPage.aspx which also provides information on RJI, RJN, and RJZ

Can anyone direct me toward using the Bloomberg Index Ticker so that I can put in "RICIAGTR" and perhaps then see the index?

The Elements link above provides a handy description of the constituents of the various ETN's.

I listened to Rogers again on the radio interview noted in the initial post of this thread. He noted twice he was buying agricultural commodities.

Looking at charts on DJP, GSG, DBC all sort of look as if they may be putting in double or triple tops. DBA, of which I just bought 300 shares, might be forming a head after forming a left shoulder in early December--this would seem appropriate as I just opened a position. All of the Rogers ETN's have data this are too short-term to see much from charting.

So, you want to support Swedish state-subsidized exports?
Read the prospectus, besides issuer (SEK) solvency risk, you have unspecified counterparty risk.
Would be interesting to hear an expert opinion on these unsecured notes as "investment vehicles", and as a swedish subject I am fascinated that SEK has gotten into these.

I have been looking at these for a while as well. Prior to the introduction of these ETN's, the only way I could find to invest in the Rogers commodity index would be through a TRAKRS, which would involve opening a futures trading account through eTrade or similar. It all seemed a little complex and awkward for my taste, plus the various fees struck me as being on the high side. The ETN's appear more promising, but considering the volatile state of the international banking system these days, I have some concerns about getting dunked should something happen to SEK et al.
