Re: The Post Antibiotic World?
Very scary, and so stupid that greed and ignorance has ruined such a great thing. But there are other ways to deal with many bugs that don't rely on antibiotics. Researchers should be looking more in the natural direction for dealing with superbugs, but there's no money in it for the pharmaceutical industry.
Before the advent of modern pharmaceuticals, the preparations that herbalists concocted were very stong; they didn't mess around. Nowdays, most herbal preparations are too weak to do anything because if an herbal product is strong enough to be really effective it has to be classified as a drug. This has led to the erroneous belief that herbal medicine is ineffective.
Food-grade diatomaceous earth traps bacteria and viruses it contacts and carries them out of the body. It also kills parasites- microscopic or otherwise- and pulls out heavy metals. There is no way for bacteria and viruses to become resistant to it.
I know from personal experience that diatomaceous earth taken with Lugol's iodine can wipe out shigella. A combination of olive leaf extract, oregano oil, garlic and elderberry extracts killed a fast spreading MRSA infection when I couldn't get to a doctor. The trick was to take a lot more than the bottle recommended. Instead of 2 capsules twice a day, I took 8 capsules four times a day until it was gone, then for another two weeks just to be sure.
Essential oil of Thyme in surface wipes is effective against superbugs.
These are just a few examples from my paltry knowledge. Who knows, when high tech fails maybe medicine will come full circle again...
Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
