Re: Can anyone talk German?
Germany's largest automobile club, ADAC, has tested 68 cars with euro 6 certified engines.
51 of them exceeded emission limits. some by more than 10 times, such as the Volvo S60, Renault Espace and the Jeep Renegade.
ADAC is also well know for keeping statistics on car repairs, which produce nice metrics for reliability reports when buying a second-hand car.
so basically, they've found that majority of cars don't have an engine that conforms with the claimed emission values. in their test, which does not follow the same procedure as the emssion certification test.
So the question is, do values differ through cheating, or by having artificial testing conditions for certification tests, that don't correspond with the test conditions used by ADAC?Last edited by FrankL; October 07, 2015, 06:07 PM.engineer with little (or even no) economic insight
