Scientists are also people; people who need to pay their mortgages, and provide for their families. They also want peer approval like most people. In today's environment it can be problematical to go against the flow. The flow being government and corporate funded projects that are expected to come close to a preordained conclusion. Politics, money, power, and truth; which one of these is not like the others.
