  • GM Europe at last "Gets it"

For as long as i can recall GM Europe (Vauxhall in the UK, Opel in mainland Europe) They were Bloody usless crap. Badly built & designed with poor engines & gearboxes...no one in their right mind bought a Vauxhall..........you were given one as a "Company car".

Then after losing money for ever & having totaly wecked SAAB (Once a cooler brand than Audi) GM went BUST. They tried to sell off OPel/Vauxhall........but no one wanted them........then they decied to KILL them off, even bought in Chevy as a replacement brand....only to find out that it was "To Big to Fail"............So they dug deep.

THey did away with the gearboxes that dated back to the 60's & designed a built new ones with short throw & slick movements. Next they designed new engines, the diesel is one of the best on the market right now....an alloy block making it light & its smooth as well.

Now at last they have a new car to put them in:-

They stopped the BIGGER is BETTER thing as well, the new Astra is smaller, shorter, lower.....its based on a platform they build in China so they got volume on their side.

& they understand that TEC now sells cars like saftey did in the 90's

Delighted to see "On Star" here at last.........the car can be tracked & stopped if robbed. Sure some smart hacker types will find away round but 95% of the scum will not1

Am delighted because their built in two plants..........one in Poland & the other 26 miles away from ME.
I hope once the crash comes & the £ is reset to toliet paper V the Euro then all the German cars will go & once more i will see car parks full of local built cars.
