  • Mega's new car

Well after almost 12 years & 96,000 miles it was time to say goodbye to the Skoda vRS (VW Bora). I rung it neck one last time last night to see a 1-3-5 on the clock. Sadly it was simply too thirsty to carry on running.

So, i "down sized" to a Ford Fiesta Z-Tec S 1.0 litre...........a 3 cyinder turbo direct injection with 140 ish bhp & 155 flbs. Only put 73 miles on so far but i think i can live with it....brakes are the only real diss-a-point-ment. Very small disk on the front, drums on the rear.

Congrats Mike!! Sounds like the engine outshines the brakes...which means drive fast and don't stop.

Am having to get used to a lot of new things..........such as the power steering.

In my other cars (expect the Honda Type R) the the Steering was no not eletric. Its not bad but it feels differant its digal rather than an-o-log......
Only 71 miles so far, am told it lossen up around 3,500 to 4,500 miles...i do 400 miles a week so not long.

Congrats Mega. My mom has a Ford Fiesta SES from 2011 or 12. She's barely 5' tall (152 cm), and it was one of a very small selection of cars she could actually drive comfortably in. It's been a great car for her with zero troubles, except for the "Jerking/Shuddering acceleration" recall issue which was fixed by the Ford dealership for free, although the first Ford dealership she went to didn't even recognize the issue as a recall issue. I'm over 5'10 (178 cm) and I find the driving space for my legs way too narrow for comfort.

Myself, I've recently gone from one extreme to the other... 93 Honda civic to 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe XL Limited (youtube). Twice the gas usage, 10+ times the awesomeness. I test drove and feature/price/reliability compared to death about 10 other SUVs over 3 months. The thing has more features (3MB PDF file) than pretty much any luxury SUV you can find for about $10-$20,000 less, and beats any other mid range SUV except the Kia Sorrento, but who wants to be seen in a Kia ?. I'd roll down my window and yell 'Muricah!! Except it's a Korean car and I'm Canadian and well, the 10+ speaker system w/ 550W of power and with crystal clear audio would drawn out my voice :P Hey, gas is 25% off at the pump with the recent crash, what can I say :P In reality my 93 had started to become a safety issue and I got 2 lil' ones now. I paid bitcoin cash for this used car with only 20,000 KM (in total more than $17,000 off the exact same 2015 model) and bought it at end of month from a dealership that wasn't meeting their quotas by a long shot (can you say $7,000 extra discount?). Unless oil spikes about $300 USD a barrel, or I lose my job, I should be driving this thing for 10-15 years (if the car lasts that long).

        Happy driving!

          Thanks guys
Driving it today..........foot to floor in 2nd & i swear that i could get out & run faster..........the nanosec i go into 3rd there is suddenly a wall of torque, & 4th, & 5th. I can only think Ford has limted the torque output in 1&2 for some reson?

Yes Adeptus, am 5 foot 7 myself & thats about it for the Fiesta......
