Yup, the speed limit is 80km and they're on the brakes at 203, down from about 240. Isn't this what the electric car revolution is all about, kicking the butt of a Kawasaki Ninja?

Just in case anyone here was thinking that electric propulsion was about saving the planet, it's really just a new way to offer massive lower end torque and assist your ICE on the top end. Maybe when Miami is 6 feet under water we'll stop racing and start conserving...or not. Denver will never have a flooding issue.

Actually Portuguese drivers have tonned down their speeding by a huge amount in the past ~10 years, thanks to trying to align driving standards to the rest of the Eurozone and the need to supplement Police budgets with speeding tickets - easy cash in Portugal, as prior to this everyone considered speed limitation signs as "just a suggestion". Driving in Portugal ~10 years ago was pretty insane, though still nothing like driving in Rio de Janeiro.

In regards to the video, it was interesting to see that there's a few unofficial driving rules noted that are still true day:
1) The far left lane is pretty much reserved for: BMWs, Mercedes, Audis, Ferraris (yes Portugal has a very high per capita of these), Porche, fast motor bikes. Drive anything else in that lane for more than 10 seconds at your own risk of death.
2) Whenever driving in the far left lane at speeds above 150KM/h, you should always leave your front lights on medium, and your left blinker on as a warning signal to any cars in the same lane or center lanes. Leaving these lights on basically translates to: GTFOMW - Get the F out of my way, unless you want to be run over.
3) As you drive in the far left lane, Just prior passing a car in the centre lane at very high speeds, it is strongly recommended you flash your maximum lights a few times prior to passing, to ensure that center lane cars see you and don't attempt to pass other center lane cars through the left lane and crash into you.

4. And if you are on a motorcycle it's safer to be behind a fast car in the left lane than out in front. The guy on the bike didn't really try to overtake the Bimmer.
