    Can we spell P-R-O-P-A-G-A-N-D-A?

From the article "So if you want better returns, get them. But you're not entitled to getting 4 percent returns from the Fed."

No, children, risk-free big returns on free money are only for the Fed's Friends In High Places On Wall Street.

Shame on us for wanting a level playing field in a rigged game.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

US newspapers have been sold to billionaires. Bezos is no better or worse than the Koch brothers, he just keeps a lower profile. Savers are the new bogeyman in the US and Bezos encourages this sort of grandma flogging in his paper. Fifty years ago, 100 years ago, savers were the icons Americans looked up to but we tax corporations at such a low rate there's too much money in the system and savings have no value. Savers are now despised by US entrepreneurs that no longer need someone else's money to grow, so Bezos has a message for your grandma...go eat cat food or starve on your 1% savings rate. As the new WaPo says, grandma, you don't deserve any better.

And this was the paper that took down a President 40 years ago. Now it blames grandma for having a savings account.

I wouldn't wipe my bum with that paper, but I read it just the same. The WaPo has been home to company men since before there even was such a thing. It was the primary annex for Operation Mockingbird, a creation of Phil Graham and Cord Meyer. Deb Davis broke this all in her book "Katherine the Great." The story of how that book came to be published is instructive in itself. I think the Post is our RT and Pravda and that it's always been. Is there reason to expect otherwise moving forward?

As for taking down a president, it might be better to see it as a battle of Dicks where the biggest Dick in town won. Speculative, oh so speculative, but since we're talking fiction here....

"I think the Post is our RT,"

          Bingo!

Thanks for the Cord Meyer link. Fascinating.
