when it was time to upgrade i took one look at windows 8 and all the touchscreen laptops [wtf?] being promoted, and bought a macbook pro.
My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 2. While it hasn't been flawless, it's still the best laptop I've owned in a decade or more. I love/hate the touchscreen and it's the reason I didn't buy a MacBook. That said, I recommended that our IT director look at Lenovo laptops over the hideous HP laptops they'd been buying and they purchased a half dozen of the ThinkPad versions. All of them have turned out to be fancy versions of the HP disaster. They simply don't stand up to techy level use. By the time the perfect laptop comes out the laptop era may have passed or maybe I owned the perfect laptop long ago when I used one of the original IBM ThinkPads. I still miss the way that keyboard worked.

another reason i didn't get another lenovo was that they no longer offered the keyboard i liked. i'm a touch typist and don't think any current laptop keyboards are the equal of the old ibm thinkpad.
