Re: Cheap Oil Goes Nuclear
The New England region used to be dependent on a combination of US Gulf Coast and Canadian imports for natural gas supply; both significant pipeline distance away. That is no longer the case because of the Marcellus Shale.
Three charts say it all.
Enormous increases in gas production year-over-year, the usual improvements in well performance from knowledge gained with each additional well drilled in the early stages of a new play, and the typical price discount from too much new production and not enough accessible market demand (Dominion South is a gas trading node in southwestern Pennsylvania):

Re: Cheap Oil Goes Nuclear
Was watching Boom Pickens a few days ago, he sez:-
Without US Shale we would have hit Peek (cheap) oil, we hit output capicaty in 2005.....
Shale will not last!
Watch the rig count
Mean while in the Northsea things are not good:-
It requires up to 1 TRILLION £ (UK Pounds) investment.
Aberdeen concil (Scotland) is to host an Crisses meeting of all oil producers (left) in the Northsea.
BIG fears of a production collaspe!
Cheers & Merry Xmas
;)
