Re: Possible Arthritis Relief?
Interesting, but it works by blocking the symptom (pain) rather than addressing the dysregulated immune system and resulting inflammation. Which I guess is better than nothing for people in pain from RA.
A non-invasive approach that shows promise is Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN). LDN appears to normalize the immune system and thereby stop it from attacking the body. LDN is cheap, non-toxic at low doses and has few if any side effects. I've heard it's being fast-tracked in England to be the treatment of choice for MS and Fibromyalgia. Given that it's so inexpensive, it's unlikely to be approved in the U.S. any time soon, but it can be ordered from overseas pharmacies for a pittance.

Extensions of LDN Theory and Application
The thing LDN can't do is repair damage that's already occurred. Perhaps this new surgical technique used in conjuction with LDN could be an effective way to stop the pain from the damage that's already occurred and prevent progression of the disease.

By firing impulses for just three minutes a day, scientists were able to reduce the activity of the spleen, a key organ in the immune system.
Within a matter of days the organ produced fewer chemicals and other immune cells that cause the abnormal inflammation in the joints of people with rheumatoid arthritis.
Kris Famm, who is leading the research, said the implants could prevent the airway spasms of asthma, control appetite in obesity, and restore normal insulin production in diabetes.

You could add half a teaspoon of tumeric powder into your tea or coffee every morning to alleviate joint pain. But it's so insanely cheap that no doctor will recommend it. A one pound packet will last you more than one year even if you drink it twice a day. Minimum side effect and prevents dementia or forgetfulness and according to some online literature, certain cancers.
