    The Girl With All the Gifts was riveting! Still haunted by it months later...

    I enjoyed Jim Rickards' The Death of Money. It's a good tutorial for explaining the major pieces of the world monetary system's house of cards, but I don't necessarily agree with his conclusions of how it's all going to play out. The devil is always in the details, and EJ, Finster, GRG55 et al provide more nuanced analyses than Rickards.

    Not from 2014 but new to me...
    I just finished and tremendously enjoyed the first Jack Reacher novel The Killing Floor. Plot-wise and prose-wise it's the best mystery I've ever read. Be warned though - it's very violent.

    Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

      who has time to read books?
      eye have a hard nuff time keeping up with whats happnin here on the 'tulip...
      (and watching most of my stock bets evaporate...)
