Something I saw the other day. Cramer was interviewing Ron Paul, and something Paul said struck me: That for the first time in his political life, the media and general populace are actually talking about the Fed. It seems that on the mainstream financial sites, the Fed gets a lot more publicity now that it had been in the past couple of years.
Here is what I'm wondering: How much press did the Fed get in the 70s, 80's, and 90s? Of course we here look at the data and know, but I wonder if even many astute investors were unaware of what the Fed was and what it did. (I've only been investing seriously for the past 5 years and obviously have no recollection of the 70s, never had any clue about monetary systems in the 80's and 90s).
