  • Science!

Apropos of nothing, here's an animated global map of "precipitable water" in the atmosphere of the entire planet.

    source http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-tim...bal2/main.html

From time to time a geek like me is struck with wonder at our ability to see and know things.
I think it's very cool -enjoy.

LOL! I was, in fact, thinking about that silly song when I wrote the thread title.
In my head it's shouted in Thomas Dolby's voice

          "...good heavens, miss yakamoto...."

          nice find T&B!

interesting to see the flow on such a big scale (tho this one is still my fave)

esp since an el nino has been officially declared

and watching the stream as it moved into and away from the right coast - after a nor'easter dropped over a foot in places - and whats happening right now on the left coast = whooooo baybee... bring it on! -
they/we need the wet stuff - not to mention the white stuff...

never thot eye'd see the day when NH starts looking better for pre-xmas downhill action than the wild wild west?
(never mind needing to water the lawn in december...)
