  • Could the IMF upset the Gold party?

    Gold softened today because of its said Spain selling some. The thought comes to me that the dear old (falling customer base) IMF is sitting on 3200 metric tons of the stuff.

    As America starts to crash, i am sure this will be sold, perhaps oil is a better investment?

    naw, it's the US dollar's counter-rally that is causing gold to fall. I wouldn't worry about the IMF or any other supposed supply and demand issues. That is just nonsense. It is all about currency depreciation now.

      That is only $96B of gold compared to $ 1373 B M1 $7425 M2, and tack on to it another $3500B M3 -- Tack on to this uncounted leveraged debt obligations -- and you start getting the picture!

        The IMF has no plans to sell its gold.

          But they need to bale America etc, its the quickest way to get cash?
