Unfortunately, I think nothing will be rocked. It's so similar to Frontline's "The Warning".

Yup. I just listened to it. Here's the page. Maybe we all just think about this stuff too much. But no shockers there for me.

maybe so, and yer probably gonna be proven right on this - but methinks its strictly a function of what the lamerstream media op/ed depts want to 'promote' this week/month/year - ie: like when its something dear to them - and i hesitate to keep harping on this one - since i couldnt personally care less (about what consenting adults want to do with and to each other in the privacy - keyword - of their own abodes) - but the 'marriage' rights issue has been their main product since 2008 - that is, when its not gun 'control' or 'free' birth control or otherwise advocating (propagandizing) for the 'affordable' healthcare act (or anything else that makes the dems look good or - esp - makes the repubs look bad) - and all of these HOT BUTTON issues never fail to DISTRACT THE HERD from whats REALLY been goin on with the lwr manhattan/beltway axis of evil

and i still maintain - since eye have seen little or NUTHIN here or elsewhere to refute it - that - esp since 1999 - they are the primary benefactors of The Big D Machine - and those that are quick to pounce on me for this POV are usually stuck somewhere on that river NOT in egypt and simply choose NOT to focus on/think about anything that would lead to that conclusion - quite EXACTLY LIKE (most of) the lamerstream media simply choses to ignore whenever it suits their agenda

and i DONT hold the Repubs blameless in any sense whatsoever - its clearly The Political Class on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE that is The Problem - i just happen to think that its the dems politix and policies that are 51% - or maybe that should be 51.1% - who are in denial about the 'unintended consequences' of the DNC's 'end justifies the means' political machinations - and we've seen the effects or 'ends' of this since the 1960's - esp in places like CHI, NYC, BOS, PHL, DTW, SAC/LA, HNL (dont get me goin ;) NJ, MI, PA, IL and more recently CA, CO, MN, WI etc etc etc.

and as i've mentioned more than a few times - if even 10% of the electorate - that is PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY VOTE - had seen INSIDE JOB, or bothered to watch PBS/Frontline's many documentaries, read ANY of matt taibbi's stuff - THERE WOULD BE RIOTING IN THE STREETS that would make the occupy bunch's phreakfests look like a girl scout sunday picnic...

dunno dc - maybe its just taken longer than it used-to (like say with the 80's S&L debacle, or hey - ENRON) - and like you say, the wheels turn slooooooooowly - but they do turn - and its kinda funny how they seem to have suddenly sped up a few hundred RPM's ?

there's quite a bit of activity 'all of a sudden' ?

        STARTING RIGHT HERE, for instance

        then there's this...

        and never mind this...

but methinks THIS ONE might just be leading up to 'the moment of truth' ?

course some are speculating that all this might lead to a 're-set' ? (of the most utterly failed administration in the past century - at least since 1913...)

but... what do i know - i'm just a (now) poor tradesman...

Mayhap you're right on this one, Lek. They're shaking things up in a way they didn't seem to care to before. It only took 3-4 months from the announcement to get the inversion rules done. And I completely missed the Wiley civil case story you posted - good catch! Only thing that bothers me about it is that pattern's not too rare either - skirt the criminal charges, pay up on the civil ones. But at least a couple 10 figure crooks got a 9 figure comeuppance. "I just didn't know it was illegal to funnel all my money into securities accounts offshore, then sell a bunch of securities, and never let Uncle Sam know about the capital gains. Honest mistake, George, I swear." They sound so stone cold stupid when they say that crap in public. The only reason to set up the offshore account in the first place was to break the law. If I were President tomorrow I'd send a carrier group and a couple marine battalions down to flush out the Pirates of the Caribbean and end this criminal nonsense once and for all. Probably wouldn't need no "boots on the ground" to solve that one either. But then again, I lost my patience for this stuff a long time ago...

well... there's a reason for that, as you and i both know - it's 'the season' again
(you know, the 2 phreakin years called 'campaign season' - and they gotta make it look like theyz doin somethin...)

HEAR HERE!!! (i still say you're missing yer true calling, dc ;)
altho...there's gotta be less expensive ways of accomplishing same - the first thing that needs to go is the 'carried interest' scam

but... there's only ONE WAY any of this is going to happen... and i'll say it again:

              T E R M L I M I T S FOR CONGRESS (the house)
and have the states guvs APPOINT THE SENATE

              NOW!!!

and LIMIT campaign 'season' to 30days DURING THEIR SUMMER BREAK

with FREE/public-interest adverts on the lamerstream/broadcast media for ALL CANDIDATES
(so we can 'divest' media from the PROFITS on all this BS)

              and furthermore -

just like the VOLUNTEERS for THE STILL GREAT STATE OF NH
who accomplish The Public's business in a single 30day session, for their annual pay of 100 bux?

and STILL manage to do it - for going on FOUR HUNDRED YEARS now -
and STILL with NO sales tax and NO income tax (and their schools/teachers seem to get along just fine)

the NH leg - after the session and their terms in office are DONE?

they get to GO BACK TO WORK LIKE THE REST OF US

NO GOLD-PLATED RETIREMENTS AND MEDICAL BENEFITS FOR LIFE
NO MORE NUTHIN AFTER THEY GET OUT OF OFFICE

              NOW!!!!
