I've gotten stuck with long transit stops in some of the major airports.

While the airline lounges can be a godsend I really like to do a lot of walking around in between long-hail flights so I'll often do a good few "laps".

I can't recall the last time I've seen a transaction occurring in those very high end luxury brand boutiques. Brand embassies? Absolutely. Brand sales? I'd love to see their store P/Ls.

Looks like the next generation in one branch of the Ruling Family of the State of Qatar are going to have to buy their own watch. This particular Patek Philippe was auctioned for a very cool 23.237 million Swiss Francs (about US$ 24 million) earlier today in Geneva (BTW, that's equivalent to 4,800 18kt gold version Apple watches, or 68,768 of the slightly less expensive "Sport" versions, just in case anybody was counting).

This season, Sotheby’s is paying tribute to the 175th anniversary of the distinguished watch manufacturer Patek Philippe with the sale of the world famous and unique Henry Graves Supercomplication. Further highlights of the auction include a variety of Patek Philippe models, among which the iconic reference 3448, which features a case back engraved with the national emblem of the sultanate of Oman. Rolex is also well represented, including a stunning Ref. 8171 in stainless steel. Our Geneva November sale will be the perfect occasion for collectors worldwide to find the largest selection in all horological fields.

Discover the Henry Graves Supercomplication by Patek Philippe, the most important watch in the world. First commissioned in 1925, the Supercomplication has an astounding 24 complications, making it the most complicated watch ever made by any watchmaker without the aid of computer technology. This watch will be on auction in our 11 November
        Important Watches sale in Geneva.
