Euro Pacific no go :((

I did everthing right, they agreed that everything was in order but everytime i tried to get them to return a Fax,E-mail or phone call they just couldn't be bothered.

Its a shame, i love to have been a client of Peter, i still think he rocks........even if his staff don't............so what to do next?

In the short term buy Gold, may be silver as well...........but i think i need to read up on this subject........just found a book wrtten by some Berk called Jan-zen..............i heard that name before some where.

Tell me which branch office you were opening the account at, and the name of the person who was supposed to be providing you with an account setup. I will contact them and inquire what exactly happened here.

I am offering my assistance to clear up where the screw up occurred. The decision as to whether to persevere to open the account remains up to you. But let me at least call them and find out how this happened.

Very funny Metal-crumbster. It's true though, Mega really "has the stuff" to be the biggest "sky is falling (when is the sky going to start falling for Pete's sake???)" doomer of us all.

Maybe even Euro-Pac, the most touted doom-mongering brokerage in North America, with the most outspokenly doom-mongering (self-promoting) boss in North America, found Mega's "8-on-the-Richter-scale Mega-Bada-Doom" temperament too hot to handle? ;) (But wait! How could an Englishman be "too hot"? I thought they were all supposed to be permanently "unflappable" ? Maybe Mega is an "anomaly" :confused: )

I can fix it for yer Miker. Just gimme the go ahead and I'll call Peter and tell him he's got crappy-ass customer service out of his snooty Connecticut office! I'll learn him real good!

I have not had a problem with customer service at Euro-Pac, in fact they are very nice.

Funny I have been wondering for sometime based on Lukester's posts if he is really Peter

I DO know that peter does read this BB, i rather not say how i know,but he does read it.

So Lukester you have "Pull" at Euro-pac?

It was the main office and it was a she.............but look i don't want ass kicked am sure they just had too much on their plate.

May be if i went via another less busy office?

No I don't have any "pull" with Europac, just as an existing long time customer maybe they will pay attention if someone points out to them there is a UK chap who always praises them to the sky who got some shabby or non-existent service while merely trying to send them some money.

I still find it hard to believe this occurred Mega, because all any brokerage dreams about is to accept more client funds. This is one thing they are normally always "really, really" enthusiastic about doing for you. So it may be you misunderstood the delays as being dis-interest on their part. International transactions can easily involve an error, and despite my criticisms this is a very capable brokerage at placing virtually any international stock purchase for you.

As Rick Bishop said, they are generally entirely courteous and prompt on all transactions I've done with them, so the problem you experienced was likely a "one-off". Certainly as a brokerage you can trust them with your money Mega, that is absolutely not the issue. The issue is merely high commissions. If you are not sure if you'll trade a lot, that is a "large" consideration. That brokerage is not suitable for the frequent buyer and seller. I'm in the Newport Beach office, in case you want to pursue opening an account. I'm positive that if you want a US brokerage account you can successfully open one there now that you've gone this far.
