People have become so jaded about cars. It is what it is, cheap transportation for the masses. What's wrong with that?
i think people have forgotten what a real car interior from 1983 was like. Check out this 83 Porsche

110% a gree with you sir!
"People" tend to lease-hire rather than buy in blighty (Bullsh1ting BMW types) for me this is the car that might arrive just as the cheap credit ends. The only reson BMW/Audi/Merc can do their cheap(er) deals is using cheap credit.......once that's gone then we see a lot more of these (Fiesta based?) cars.......althought we are more a hatchback nation than trunk.

As for the interor, i think even using cheap items they could have done a better job.

That Porche interior looks like it was glued together from the leftovers of a Fiat 124 and a '73 Buick.

This is what a proper classic car interior should look like

is the Toyota GT86 available in Canada yet?

Looks to be a solid wee sports coupe, albeit without the old school elegant austerity of an early gen Z car or Ferrari Daytona.

Our family has just gone full retard diesel, except for the motorbikes.

Now we have a Hyundai diesel that supposedly gets 60-75mpg to go with the small diesel Ute that gets twice the mileage of US large pickups.

Quite practical, if not the least bit soul stirring.

It's sold as the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S in Canada (Scion is Toyota's brand variation for Generation Y)

Interesting car. Has some of the exterior styling themes from the 1972 Datsun 240Z (the car for the interior shot I posted above), including the fender detailing and the "J" window behind the door. The bustle back finish to the hatch kind of spoils the lines though. As for the interior of BRZ/FR-S/GT86...I suppose it would appeal to the target Gen Y market, what with the techno-fussy detailing...but this traditionalist still prefers the more organic look of the 240Z.

Or the clean, readable Teutonic layout of the VDO gauge panel in the '68 Porche 911:

Thought that was a Z! One of my best friends has a 240z track car and my college roommate owned a 280z way back in the day. Great cars. Porsche fixed the 944 interior in 1985 and it was actually quite attractive. I avoided the earlier cars for that reason alone. Looked cheap even back in 1982.

I used to drive an 87 cabriolet that had basically the same interior. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Looks like a saloon verson of the Fiesta?
If China could get the volume could it be their 1st volume export car?
