Yes i think we all been there!
Some years ago i was working with a lovely woman, whom i had zero chance with, thus i made zero attempt. I wacthed other crash & burn & get upset with her (she was married). I just talked to her normaly, as a friend...i didn't discuss my private life with her....but she did with me.
Then it was put about that i was Gay (nothing wrong with being gay, but am not). I didn't try to fight the rummor too much as i knew the guy was trying to bate me. Once Lynn heard i was "Gay" she opened up to me like a fan.....we had lots of great chats......& then, one friday afternoon (we finished at 3 pm on Fridays) she asked me to help her finish something she was working on..........the other left......i walked in & she was all over me.
I was shocked & delighted, but did my best to hide it.......anyway threw me onto a table & had her way with me ( i quite like it when a women attacks me)........she buzzed off the fact that she thought she "turned" a Gay man.
Not long latter she saw me out with Jill...........& sussed i was stright.......it was almost like i raped her!
She left her job & husband to move back in with her mum is Manchester..........
I gave up trying to "read" women after that.
