It is interesting to look through the financials of Starwood Waypoint Residential - a feature company in the LA Times article.

1. We always assume the smart money is getting involved in these trends - are they (I honestly don't know)

Russia controls important metals. If we sanction them, they can sanction us. We cannot project power like we used to because of a much more indebted economy.

The USA can't project power like it used to because of a much more interdependent economy. Its debt load is quite manageable compared to some of the countries that want to compete with it...
