coool! - never did make it to that attraction - but here's a few of mine...

more/less same place as your shot, but looking the other way:

and one from the way over - coming down off the saddle, heading for hapuna, with maui on the horizon - at sunrise:

and here's our fave 'resort' over there - an interior shot of one of the 'deluxe suites' at hapuna state park:

    with the view at sunset:

and one of the locals going for a dip.... ;)

and... just to keep us kinda-sorta on topic - the weather, cold, snow an all....

here's a shot off the top:

and... yers truly on the way down....

      Anyone need any rain?

      We've got plenty to spare.

Some serious local flooding here after a couple days of gale force winds and very heavy rain.

Yet another "worst in 50/100 years" storm.

But we are right on the coast, like so many on the planet…..living in massive numbers that simply didn't exist 50/100 years ago.

altho they showing 227inches so far - but IIRC, thats not much for them by this time of year?

        ...
Started off really well, went through a dry spell mid-winter, lots of snow past couple of weeks at Whistler. One of my brothers headed up there today as he couldn't stand the idea of not skiing the fresh stuff...

oh i DO know that feeling/frustration, GRG - got a small fix a few weeks back in CO (where gold-plateville got appx 5feet in the 2wks b4 i got there and got appx 2feet while there, the back bowls living up to their reputation) - but 5days dont make a season... and still waiting on the famed greatest on earth stuff to start happnin over here at lake bonneville

altho i've yet to make it up there during white season and have a pass thats good for a couple at whistler, its a bit too far for me to drive, plus they typically get kinda risky (too warm/low elevation) from here/mid-march on - at least thats been my obs thru the years, with my safari season typically being mid-mar thru late-apr - but jackson sho is lookin juicy these daze, hopefully get up there in the next week or so and any luck at all, over to tahoe/mammoth in april - assuming the recent trend/pineapple express continues

hows fernie etc doing - been over that way this year?
a pal o mine is/was up there somewhere doing a backcountry hut-to-hut tour - fergit where tho...

but - gotta git - the s/o is glarin/snortin at me - "some of us have to work today ya know!!" - uh huh, go ahead, rub it in...
so we're off to observe some climate change...

Well your US Dollars are worth 10% more than they were last year at all the Canadian ski hills this winter :-)

well there's a plus - altho last time i went up there for a winter adventure the diff was more like 20% - but noted that was only good on stuff like the lift tix (or chopper rides ;) while the restaurants and room rates ended up being same (read: 20% higher in loonies vs usd, so the currency spread didnt help any)

but... doesnt matter - blew my wad on various passes and/so cant afford to go anywhere else anyway.
