Are My friends i present the 2014 Citreon Catcus:-

But what market sector is Citroen trying to grab?

Light cross-over is Nissan or Kia....anything bigger is full 4WD, this is not.........1.2 Atmo, 1.2 Turbo & 1.6 T/D.........so its not fast & can't off road & you can't look good at the golf club car park...........so what are they looking at?

Then i sussed it........."Cactus" in French must mean kerb-crawler..........The "Bubblewrap" is if you & the "lady" have a disagreement over "Price or request" or you might have had a "Miss-understanding" on an earlier encounter & she decides to boot the Hell out of the door as you drive away. The Front seat allows you to "Have Fun" without needing retire to the rear seats, very handy if the Law suddenly turn up & you need to drive away... pronto!

& if you are the type whom enjoys a spot of whore kidnapping, no problem throw her in the back & child lock the rear doors...fixed windows means she can't escape...mild off road ability will help once you killed her & need to dump the body somewhere muddy. Basic interior can be cleaned with ease........

Meantime Germany drives forward to total automotive supremacy.

Geez Louise that is ugly! Do they do that on purpose? Maybe beautiful women who wear clunky, black horn-rim glasses buy them as a fashion statement.

Bug eye headlights seem a hallmark of that era in Europe (in America at that same time it was tail fins). But when it comes to "cute", the British did it better than the French. Below a 1959 Austin Healey "bug-eye" Sprite:

I figure the TR7 must have been designed by the French (probably British Isle born descendants of William of Normandy).

As for Mazda's MX5 ragtop (it was called the Miata in North America), all of us considered it an "MG without the oil leaks".

Without a word of a lie my mum had one of them (Citroen 2CV) when I was a kid and bizarrely I drove past a garage today selling one for £1500!!! My wife spotted it and we both just assumed they must be collectible or something. I hadn't seen one in years.
The noisiest car I've ever been in, with a crazy gear stick coming out of the dashboard along with a leaky rubber roof. It probably explains my lifelong aversion to French cars!
