    He's talking machines that work running other machines...can't see a medical application.

      Despite what's implied in the article, Acorn has done quite well for itself. A large proportion of mobile devices use a microprocessor known as an "ARM," which stands for "Acorn RISC Machine." Although the Acorn desktop was killed by the PC and Apple (along with many others), the processor they invented lives on, and is now licensed to many different manufacturers, such as TI (with their OMAP processors, and others) and Atmel (which we use in our products).
