  • Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

This is a continuation of the thread, "I guess this qualifies as news" which, due to an HTML error, is causing new posts to not properly render. I'm creating this new thread in the hopes that other iTuliper share their opinions and experiences with the product and with the hopes that Rajiv will answer any questions people have. I'll start with my comments:

I've been using the gel twice daily since mid-October and continue to use it. In the two months since I've started using the gel, here are the things I've noticed about my teeth:

    1. Since using the gel, my teeth do feel cleaner (smoother) especially near the gum line. In the past with regular toothpastes, I had to brush quite vigorously to get the filmy stuff off the surface of my teeth near the gum line and between teeth.
    2. Once a week, I brush my teeth with a regular toothpaste (plain Colgate) because I find that the mild abrasives in regular toothpaste make it easier to scrub my teeth clean. As far as I can tell, the gel loosens plaque build-up but does not dissolve it at a fast enough rate for me to notice. Thus, periodically brushing with a regular toothpaste seems to make scrubbing away the plaque easier than with just the gel and toothbrush alone.
    3. Because the gel does not foam at all, it is difficult know when brushing whether the gel is being applied to all surfaces of the teeth. I tend to swish the saliva-diluted gel in my mouth midway through my brushing to coat all of my teeth before I brush the surface of my teeth one more time before expectoration.
    4. Finally, the gel does not eliminate the need to floss, which was something I really hoped for but did not expect. While I notice that there is not as much gunk to be removed from between my teeth when flossing, there is still enough material that I still do floss daily.

I have not seen a dentist yet since I started using the gel so the above are my opinions, a person with no special training or knowledge in dential hygiene. I plan to schedule a visit with a dentist in one or two months and I'll better be able to report on how much or how little plaque is on my teeth.

When it comes to my teeth, I've taken good care of them and have been lucky that they're in good health. I have all of my teeth (with the exception of the wisdom molars which my jaw was not large enough to accomodate) and have no cavities. My gums are also healthy in that I've never had bleeding in them when I flossed.

I like what I'm seeing so far from the Livionex gel and have recently taken advantage of a special offer to their early customers and purchased six additional tubes of the gel. In my usage, I have found that one 1.75 oz tube lasts approximately six weeks.

It has been quite the miracle toothpaste. My teeth, always sensitive to food & cold, stopped hurting now. My gum line appears to be coming down. And, of course I do not have plaque at all now.

I also "discovered" that you have to still floss. I like doing it after brushing my teeth, but not rinsing out. That way some of the paste keeps working between the teeth. Regardless, I only remember to floss now when I see the plaque.

I bought my second round of stocking-stuffers. So, I have purchased 16 to date. I am personally still on my first tube... I treat it like gold (in the figurative sense) and use a little pea size. I have given many away and will give more away.

I feel like it would be a good business; distributor of amazing toothpaste.

Thanks for this. My wife and I have been using Livionex happily for 6 weeks or so and we both really like it. Our experiences mirror yours, only we have not continued to use conventional toothpaste. I have an appointment with the dentist in January and will check in here afterwards.

I had one problem area around the gumline that I guess was irritated by plaque -- drove me crazy at times. Went away completely after I started using this.

Re: Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

                Milton,

Thank you for such a detailed feedback.

What you have observed, has been observed by most other users. Brushing periodically with another toothpaste can be useful for many people, as our dental gel is effective against plaque, but not necessarily against stains that develop in some people. So periodic brushing with an abrasive containing toothpaste normally alleviates that issue.

Given our plaque reducing capabilities, we chose not to put any abrasives and detergents into the gel. This is because, without the plaque present, we felt that regular brushing with abrasive and detergent had the potential to be damaging to the teeth and gums. However, occasional use of a regular toothpaste would be useful in keeping the stains off.

It is good that you have taken good care of your teeth. Results from brushing with the Livionex Dental Gel are most apparent for people with inflamed and bleeding gums. The rapid reduction of the dental plaque also results in rapid decrease of bleeding as well as in gum inflammation (red, puffy and smooth gums, as opposed to tight, pink and stippled gums)

I have been using Livionex for some time. Very shortly after using Livionex I noticed a sharp decrease in bleeding when brushing and flossing. I brush twice a day and floss once a day. Every once in great while I have some bleeding when flossing. I have an appointment soon with a dentist so will see what he has to say. I do feel a slight build up of plaque that I cannot seem to brush away.

Re: Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

Anita, what you are noticing is most likely, a thicker pellicle. In our clinical trials, we have documented a thicker pellicle. From "Maintaining the integrity of the enamel surface"

One function of enamel pellicle is to provide a lubricating layer to allow for efficient mastication. A second function is to provide protection from demineralization and a means for posteruption maturation of enamel. Acquired enamel pellicle forms on recently erupted teeth and on tooth surfaces exposed to saliva after being thoroughly cleaned with a toothbrush or undergoing professional prophylaxis.
Normally, the deposition of bacterial plaque prevents the pellicle from getting thicker. In our case, we believe, that the delayed formation of bacterial plaque allows the pellicle to become thicker. Our mechanism of action does not remove the pellicle chemically, or by detergent or abrasives (which the Livionex Gel does not have), but only by the mechanical brushing action. If you feel the need to remove this pellicle (even though, the pellicle is protective of teeth, it is more susceptible to staining) brush a couple of times a week with baking soda, or a standard toothpaste.

I've been using Livionex since first reading about it here. Love it! Plaque seems to be gone, my gumline looks healthier, and after brushing, my teeth feel cleaner than they have ever felt before. I don't know how to describe the feeling... it's just wonderful.

I especially appreciate that Livionex doesn't contain foaming agents (that stuff always grosses me out), fluoride and other nasty ingredients. It also tastes very mild, not overpowering at all. I have multiple chemical sensitivity and never thought I would give up my Peelu powder, but this stuff rocks!

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Thought that I'd add my, or rather my wife's. experience to the comments.
My wife has had problems with bleeding gums while brushing for years. It got to the point where she started seeing the dentist every three months (rather than the typical six) for routine checkup and cleaning. She started using Livionex back in October when I bought her a tube to give it a try. Today was her first checkup since she started using the product. The hygienist noticed a clear difference in terms of healthier gums and lower plaque deposit, and asked what was my wife doing different. I happened to be in the office at the time, and she (the hygienist) and the secretary got all excited about this new product asking where I got it and how did I hear about it. So, I directed them to Livionex web site, and for a good measure added a link to iTulip to the message I just sent them. Healthy teeth/gums and econ. education for all .

In response to a request, I have gone to marketing, and had the 10% off Itulip coupon reactivated. Use the Coupon Code "ITULIP10" to get a 10% discount on your entire order. I hope that this helps those who requested it. Marketing has made the coupon good till the 15th of February.

                              Also a link to Livionex
