Re: Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

astonas, our unpublished long term studies were done with low doses of edathamil in the drinking water, and were done in diabetic rats, as well as in rats with induced inflammatory bowel disease. In both of those studies, we saw a general improvement in the health of the diabetic rats, and large reductions in the inflammatory bowel symptoms in the IBD rats. I hope that answers your questions. Message me directly, and I can tell you more.

Been using it a few days now so I can only say it seems good as teeth feel a bit cleaner - Type II diabetic here any improvement there and I'll buy it just for that.

If its good for the rats it's good enough for me..

Re: Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

I just received my first order of the gel, and tried it once.
I used a pea size amount and it felt like I was brushing with my own saliva.
So, while I was brushing, a couple of questions came to my mind, and would appreciate if Rajiv or anyone who's been using it for some time reply with suggestions
        1. My usual dental routine (mornings and night) is - floss, brush with Colgate, use waterpik.
Do I have to change the order when using Livionex? Will I lose the benefits of the gel if I will waterpik right after brushing?
        2. If I want to alternate between Colgate and Livionex to avoid staining, what would be the best schedule?
Or can I just mix Colgate and Livionex, say half and half, in one brushing?

        Thanks

Yes it appears that you are just brushing with your own saliva. But the effect is there nonetheless. You don't need to change your routine. As regards the Colgate, it is not really necessary to brush daily with it. The staining only happens as the pellicle builds up. I have found that brushing once or twice week with baking soda takes care of the stains. Sometimes the choice of the tooth brush also makes a difference. The staining seems to happen in a small proportion of users. I have not seen any users of the "sonicare" type brushes complaining. Many people find it difficult to do an adequate job cleaning the front of their teeth with a manual toothbrush.

Let me know what works for you.

Re: Comments on Livionex Dental Gel (Toothpaste)

After reading the comments in this thread I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I ordered my first tube a few weeks ago. I used it about 5 times in the week leading up to my 6 month cleaning. My dental hygienist said it looked like I had less plaque buildup than usual on the inner part of my bottom front teeth. It's hard for me to say if that's related to the Livionex as I had also been trying to brush more thoroughly there since my last cleaning and hadn't used it much.

Overall, I like the feeling it gives my teeth. Has that "squeaky clean" effect in a literal sense. The mouth feel is definitely unusual compared to normal toothpaste but I don't mind it.

I have to agree that the price is pretty outrageous. Basically 10x normal cost. The packaging combined with the thinner gel consistency has also caused me to wash a fair amount down the drain which makes the price even worse. I will probably keep using it every few days as I can't seem to justify the cost in using it every time.

                Hi Rajiv,

Any reason for kids not to use Liovionex?

I don't find the cost to be as outsized as you feel it is. One only uses a small amount each time. Also, there is no need to wet the toothbrush with water when using Livionex; is that why you are washing it down the drain?

My wife and I find that one tube lasts about as long as a conventional tube of toothpaste.

I'm having a lot of trouble controlling the amount of product that comes out of the tube. The other night I flipped open the cap and about $5.00 worth of product shot out before I could stop it. So now I sit it upside down on my shelf with the cap facing up. Nothing comes out at first so I squeeze a little, then a little more, and then too much comes out all at once. I would love it if it was either thicker or came in a measured pump dispenser. It's too precious to waste.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
