No need for that...everyone with warplanes has to use them now and again, or are considered a failed power. No one will fight over those islands by air...there will be an international agreement as to who gets to put what drilling rigs where...since this is about the gas under the adjoining ocean...not the islands.Comment

This is not about the natural resources, if there even are any that are truly usable, near the islands. This is entirely about national egos: China's as a nation that feels it's been disrespected and humiliated for centuries and is seeking respect (it should think about earning it); and Japan's as a nation that still has imperialist and militaristic ambitions among some of its most senior politicians.Originally posted by Forrest View PostComment
