Interesting.....it IS the Mail.

But I thought the collapse of Big Brother due to labour intensity in the 1980's was now rising like a phoenix from the ashes of East Germany and the STASI due to Moore's Law?

Or is this maybe a Chinese "make work" like activity for its millions of unemployed young people along the lines of the TVA and CCC for the surveillance age?

I daresay the NSA could put a bunch of college graduates to work in the same way...after all, that big computer in Utah has to be told what to look for, and when it finds it, someone still has to read it.

But I wonder if even two million kids could even look at more than keyword targeted data. We are communicating so much now via electronics that it's hard to keep track of who is saying what.

Still, what a nice, shovel ready project for the next Obama program.

Google, Yahoo, and others employ tens of thousands in much the same fashion.

A significant part of Google's search results are output from live people; the difference between Google and China's Great Wall of the Internet is objective. China seeks to filter out that which it considers subversive; Google seeks to filter out that which is less profitable - which is the American version of subversion.

All this concern that there will be no need for man power after machines and robots take over has been overblown. We never have enough time to spy on each other.
