  • FBI Botches Opportunity To Prevent Ft. Hood Terrorist Attack

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...-fbi-fort-hood

So the NSA has been intercepting our emails and phone calls for years. The FBI is given concrete evidence of a radicalization in process a year before and attack and does nothing to prevent it. Yet our President and his officials say they are violating everyone's constitutional rights to protect us from terror?! Add this to their advance knowledge of danger of the Boston bombers.

As it turns out, the FBI quietly released the emails in an unclassified report on the shooting, which was produced by an investigative commission headed by former FBI director William H. Webster last year. And, far from being "benign," they offer a chilling glimpse into the psyche of an Islamic radical. The report also shows how badly the FBI bungled its Hasan investigation and suggests that the Army psychiatrist's deadly rampage could have been prevented.
This seems to be another great example of hindsight bias. In the emails did Hasan say "I'm going on a shooting rampage on such and such a date and this is how it is going down?" How was the rampage preventable, by arresting Hasan for "pre- (thought) crime"?
