Good article. I didn't know they were different from Walmart or Target.

Can't help but wonder if Costco will go the way of Walmart and Home Depot once the founder is out of the way.

I follow Costco's philosophy in my business but I'm still waiting for the big payoff!

Costco in Japan continuing to expand. Prices for many things jumped 20% after the yen declined against the dollar, but it is still a bargain and worth a trip every couple of months. The great thing here is that you can send a box up to about 60 pounds anywhere in Japan for about $10. You don't need a car. Go by bus or train and have everything heavy sent, delivery in 1 to 2 days anywhere in Japan. You can specify day and time of delivery. When you have a big party, just go and pick up party food and bring it home.

Mexican Costco used to make an outstanding cake, but no more. We've switched to a different bakery (so far not Bimbo owned) The apple and tuna pies still are quite good.

We like that we have our local costco within walking distance from home. Beats Walmart in that sense. Also has several things of better quality and cheaper.
