seriously, when the trading thingy was added i figured that was for our actual allocations and timing.... don't know about anyone else else there but what you see is what you get for mine.

good for you, then, metalman. you're doing great. i haven't put up my portfolio because the categories don't fit - e.g. i use puts on individual stocks and etfs to hedge the beta exposure of my canadian income trusts; i have a major allocation to the hussman fund which is itself variably hedged by options-based synthetic index shorts, and so on. these things don't fit into the trading thingy.

he didn't mention the epsilon factors, the gamma correctors, the laplacian transfers or the delta spreading butterfly wedges. for my jobs, he doesn't got the frob

                    I wouldn't hire him.

                    Sorry, Jk.

if you look at grg55's post, you'll see he was addressing metalman, not me. besides, butterfly wedgies sound gross.

I am often contacted by people pointing out that 'just deserts' is misspelled. They go to great lengths to explain why it should be 'just desserts'. They are wrong, but perhaps understandably so.

(they claim there's no such thing as "just desserts")

I was going to use this from your first reference as an excuse that could similarly apply to where I live...
"Most of the correspondence pointing out the 'error' comes from Australia. That may be coincidence, although it could be that, living in a hot, [formerly English administered region] English-speaking country, Australians [Arabian Gulf expats] have more exposure to hearing the word deserts with the stress on 'des' than the rest of us."
...however there is a simpler explanation.

My wife is fond of pointing out that the "P. Eng" after my name actually stands for Poor English. And thanks for the correction Spartacus!

I was forced to eat my dessert, a piece of cake, in the desert. Sand stuck to the frosting. Each mouth full ground between my teeth, punishment I deserved–my just desert–for insulting my wife's cooking. She threw me out before I got to touch my dinner; cake is all I got to eat, just dessert. What did I see when I looked out across the landscape as I crunched my cake? Just desert, of course.
