    Re: Singapore vs Nigeria

From what I saw on my trip to China... it takes 6 workers to turn a light bulb, when they feel like it. I suspect the factories work differently than retail, but I do not know.

People in IT who have worked in Russia tell me it takes 2 workers to do the job that one American could do. It is a cultural thing, probably from 50 years of communism.

there really is a limit to what can successfully be offshored, and there's far more to that decision than just the cost of labour. The USA, Canada, Germany and other similar countries are not going to build an economy on minimum wage unskilled jobs making plastic slippers for WalMart to resell. Time for the mainstream media to get over it and move on...

skilled labor is getting to be a rare 'commodity' in the US
and i use the term commodity as a perjoritive, as its not only an insult to us skilled laborer types, its an out and out misrepresentation of skilled labor's function in the US/western world economies.

        Michael Shuer on Foreign Policy:

Shuer is "neutral wing" . He says we create our own enemies with our insane foreign policy.

He is a 20 year CIA veteran.

During the video, he criticizes US mid-east policy, including Israel.

Ron Paul said similar. The best way to make friends and not create enemies is to be a good trading partner.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Shuer was at the wash dc ron paul rally in 2008, selling his book. I think I was able to have a short conversation with him.
