Re: China Accounts for Nearly Half of World's New Money Supply
This might be more credible if the publication wasn't an arm of the Taiwan government.
Equally the numbers quoted are very fuzzy - how much of China's "printing" is due to sterilizing trade surpluses from Europe and the US?

Taiwan is on China's side as far as the economy is concerned. Taiwanese businessmen own the biggest non-state companies operating in China.
There's no reason why a Taiwanese newspaper will want to alienate their advertisers. Anyway, the fact that China prints a great deal of cash is not surprising, given the 30x annual income home prices.

Reunification? Many small PRC businessmen are having a hard time bullied by local officials involved in businesses. The Taiwanese in comparison are better off in this respect. If there's reunification, the advantage will be gone.

I think it is far more likely that the Taiwanese who do business in China are much higher up the food chain, and thus can 'smooth' their way better ... much as the wealthier mainland Chinese businessmen - or American banksters - can.

How amusing - you seem to be implying that mainland Chinese businessmen are discriminated against vs. their Taiwanese counterparts.

Of cos, they will lose that advantage if Taiwan becomes part of China.
