I can't find it back, but there's another one of these charts for energy perma-bull Daniel Yergin where every time the price of oil rose above a certain level he'd claim it was just about to return to the low historical mean. Time after time again he was wrong. And still he is being given Pulitzer prizes for repeating his defeated mantra that oil abundance is a permanent condition of our future.

    Anyway, here's businessinsider's counterargument to Berman's thesis:

Well NCR and GRG you will like this.

I just got off the phone with Kayne Anderson Energy Infrastructure Partners.

Now Kayne Anderson is one of the largest players in the Pipeline space etc.

They were falling ALL OVER themselves to describe the outlook for US Energy Independence and increased US Oil all the way up to 11 mbd by 2020!

11mbd ! Is what they are saying 'using IEA forecasts' will be the future production of the US.

So combined with raising oil production in the US and higher MPG vehicles the US will be Energy Independent and that this is a two decade long play.

They sounded super excited and not a hint of any type of specific analysis. One guy on the call said "we arent going to get into the particulars of world oil production and consumption but"

    Very interesting.....

I wonder if he offered any caveats regarding economic conditions.
