I hoping that some will start to begin to question the so-called anti-societal messengers, especially those who have backgrounds in system-media. They are making huge claims here, and as I see it, they have the burden of proof to justify those claims and to frame them in the appropriate context so as not to MISLEAD, deliberately or otherwise, the reader. In my personal experience, I have yet to meet a DC non-profit leader who has the public's interest at heart. And I've met quite a few of them. So, before you buy into this story line, ask some questions and do some thinking. From what I can tell, the story is being accepted here without question. Again, from my personal experience, that's a mistake.

You do realize that major forums and web sites are setup as controlled operations, it's not just individual users within these forums.

"To accept anything on trust, to preclude critical application and development, is a grievous sin; and in order to apply and develop, “simple interpretation” is obviously not enough."

I'm attaching the FBI report cited in the article. I suggest disassociating from the frame of reference created by the nonprofit group when reading it, then commenting on precisely what issues you have with the report, quoting from the report.

PS> I can't seem to upload the PDF report, so here is direct download link

            Re: Occupried COINTELPRO'd

Circling back around to the purpose of iTulip, if one assumes that wide spread propaganda is being utilized, how does one make accurate investment decisions in this environment?

Doesn't a free market assume equal access to all available information, but what if all that information is being purposely manipulated? How can a market be free, when the information to make decisions themselves is being controlled?
The challenge EJ and iTulip faces, is not simply how to apply economic models (which assume perfectibility available information), but how to read the tea leaves of political influence which matters more in a manipulated, propaganda economy, than a true free market economy that America once was decades ago.

While the discourse related to the facts if so-and-so is creditable or not, is interesting conversation, I’m here to make money and position my portfolio and personal assets to benefit from upcoming changes. I already accepted that we have a political/propaganda economy and not a free market economy. My references and comments reflect that. Let’s focus on how to profit from this than argue if OWS was subverted or not.

When I read your post, I couldn't help but think of this:

"Three gods A, B, and C are called, in some order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random matter. Your task is to determine the identities of A, B, and C by asking three yes-no questions; each question must be put to exactly one god. The gods understand English, but will answer all questions in their own language in which the words for 'yes' and 'no' are 'da' and 'ja', in some order. You do not know which word means which."
While it's only a logic exercise...I think it relates to your post, AND the challenge the forum faces with investing in such a climate.

I do have to add that even EJ has written that he has become a student of the techniques of propaganda and is using this knowledge to advance his tea reading. He specifically referenced Edward Bernays 1928 book Propaganda in one of his writings.

It's a great read and it can be found here in PDF for free: http://www.whale.to/b/bernays.pdf

Re: 2nd way to kill occupy?

Occupy collapsed of its own weight. The organizing model of camping out in the middle of Cities was fraught with difficulty. The camps fused activists with a place to live with the homeless that were already there. Housekeeping and domestic relations became a headache.

In San Francisco Occupy splintered, with one element coalescing around food security issues and the loss of the commons. Over the last few days they descended on a recycling center and community garden that the City of San Francisco evicted.

Overall, Occupy 1.0 did a great job of shifting the economic debate a way from pure austerity.

Agreed that this is not very optimum, even in terms of publicity.

Does occupy have a political strategy?

There is no party they can vote for. Green might be the closest, but
I don't think they have a single seat.

No party cares about occupy. Small parties get nothing in this system.

Campaign reform would be the best goal for them to pursue, get the money out of the system as much as possible.

It's far more advanced than Bernays. One could also try Lenin, he had great insights that are being leveraged today.

The biggest problem is that no member of the public will ever believe the scope, depth and sophistication of todays propanda cloud. Hence, transcending the system becomes almost impossible. Unfortunately, our brains have become biologically "altered" and any sense of "Truth" has gone out the window.

Director David Cronenberg alludes to it in his offbeat 1983 film starring James Woods: Videodrome.

"The battle for the mind of North America will be fought in the video arena: the Videodrome. The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore, the television screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore, whatever appears on the television screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore, television is reality, and reality is less than television."
