    Thanks for posting this Don.

I believe that THIS is the civil rights issue of our generation....not the other one(s) that are claimed that.

I guess I'll tell my kids to go look on Mobnster.com for job openings when they get older.....

$45 million lobbying effort for mandatory sentencing, longer sentences and 3-strikes. Where's Dickens when we need him . . .

Ah, yes, everyone is a terrorist... during the Bush administration, the IRS started requiring anyone who had $10k in total in overseas banks to disclose their accounts. It was ridiculous. I dont think terrorists deal in such petty amounts. They recently increased it to $50k, but it is still annoying. I have met people at parties who are so irritated by the whole thing that they take all their money out as soon as they get paid and pay off everything in advance... which might actually be good.
The US even tells Japanese banks how they must now require bank accounts to written in a name in English, not Japanese, even though everyone else's name is in Japanese. If you try to send more than $10k dollars, you know, like to pay off your loans, fix your roof, or whatever, you have to stay at home so the bank can call you on your land line so they can ask you what the money is for. Then the tax office asks you the same thing. Everyone has learned to pay things off using the internet and credit cards in small amounts rather than in large amounts to avoid being hassled.
