  • Land value tax: in Pirate Party UK manifesto

The draft Pirate Party UK manifesto proposes a land value tax, no more bank bailouts, & clear, concise & achievable goals for our presence in Afghanistan.

Possibly some progressive UK 'tulipers may find a home there.

If you don't agree, join & help rewrite it.

Re: Land value tax: in Pirate Party UK manifesto

The problem with alternative parties is that usually they are alternatives for those of a typically conservative nature.

The Left will *always* vote Labour for a plethora of reasons which we have discussed on iTulip before; the underclass are convinced their lives are better living off the state teat, the middle class consider Left wing progressivism to be beneficial for society - this is alleged to be called 'social justice' or Non-governmental work (but is often funded by the state), the working class are often bullied into voting for the party which gives their union the most power (and union bosses the most filthy lucre). All these groups desire the enlargement of the State.

In short, alternative parties often dilute the Conservative vote and allow Labour to wreak their destruction on the economy. Again and again.

I have no love for Cameron's Tory party which has totally failed to bring the City and the deficit under control and UKIP are a single issue party (although I agree with them on that single issue) and lack real credibility. Will the Pirate Party be taken seriously by enough people to ensure a majority win in an election? I doubt.

Basically, the whole political process sucks plums. There is 'No Hope'.
