    Ikea are clever in the way they design things to lock you in. For example their kitchen units are made from 19mm thick panels when the rest of the industry uses 18mm and I think their worktops come slightly deeper making it just a little harder to mix and match. All their beds / mattresses are slightly non-standard in size as well.

    If I recall correctly the kitchen units I bought in last year from Ikea were made in Poland.

      This is similar to Apple's practices.
