My workshop was about 3 mins from this place, lots of people killed (Inclunding two engineers dragged into the wood pulp machine & chopped to death). They were also "Kind" enough to deposit a fine cancer causing power via their chinney all over Kirby.
The locals whom worked there did the only right thing & a "Spark" fell on the dry wood piles......after the factory was gutted, the company tried to sue the firefighters for not stopping the fire in time......
I think the massive reduction in demand for their product, together with high engery costs & the small matter that the insuance company refussed them ANY cover.....& a class action case coming up was enough to sink this factory.
235 jobs & 40-50 indirct contracters........but hey, the air round Kirby will be clear again.
